Lights 2018-2019

"All steps to the path of light"

Lights is the name chosen to represent the series of paintings created in 2018-2019.

From May through November 2018, I visited the beaches of Miami on a regular basis to watch the sunrise. The first rays of light helped me to deepen my studies about the color palette of the sky and the lights of dawn reflected in the ocean. I was inspired by this beautiful scenario to create Lights.

"There is a moment throughout the day where is day and night at the same time".

Thanks to the perfect synchrony in nature, when half of the day is light and the other darkness, I was able to intensify my knowledge and experiences into the production of these paintings. The main purpose of this series is to create visual effects between sets of lights, inducing the viewers through art immersion.

These pieces are meant to spread light to your daily life.

This year I was able to break my comfort zone between techniques and materials used through the creative process. For instance, in the series "Parallel Universe - an invitation to your imagination" the pieces are mostly in black and white acrylic, and nanquim.

This time, the evolution of the work highlights the prominent presence of vibrant colors, textures and metallic tones leading to a composition that follows abstract geometry, minimalist and futuristic style.
